HOW IS A LIFE COACH DIFFERENT FROM A THERAPIST?
/Comparing a life coach with a therapist is like comparing a sports coach with a physical therapist. A therapist is important for ones mental health, as well as a physical therapist is very important for ones body health, but no athlete has ever gone to a physical therapist to be coached for a game or competition.
Coaching, therapy and meditation are all completely different by definition. A therapist or psychologist deals with emotions related to past problems in order to help people move forward, while a life coach mentors and coaches people to become the person that they need to become in order to reach their goals. A coach has to have extensive life and business experience, coaching experience, has to be successful (not coach from an apartment) has to have failed and reach goals as well, otherwise how can it help you reach any goals.
A life coach helps build an action plan and guides you every step of the way until you reach your personal and/or professional goals. A good life coach has a high EQ, not only IQ, and offers emotional support, motivation and inspiration to properly fuel your coaching journey towards success, fulfillment and happiness.
A life coach is completely different from a therapist or psychologist, therefore you need to decide first if you need help to forgive and move on from your past problems, or you want to reach personal and/or professional goals and work with a life coach to help plan and take action to reach your goals and live a more fulfilled and happy life.
Life coaching is not covered by medical insurance because it is an investment in your future, in your personal development and education, same like school, but it is meant to help you accomplish a lot more in life then you can accomplish on your own.
Therapy is covered by medical insurance because it is medical service and it deals with psychological conditions caused by past problems, and in most cases medication is required.
